Woman from Gelendjik complains about beating after action in support of Navalny

Marina Romanova was taken to intensive care unit after being beaten in the city of Gelendjik. She links the attack on her with her taking part in actions in support of the opposition leader, Alexei Navalny.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 21, law enforcers took to the police station at least seven persons detained at the action in support of Alexei Navalny held in Gelendjik. The Gelendjik City Court recognized Arseny Sorokin and Nikita Rybka as organizers of the action and sentenced them to administrative arrest. Two more activists, including Marina Romanova, were fined for taking part in the action.

According to Marina Romanova, she was attacked on April 26. When she was on her way home along Vostochny Lane in Gelendjik, two unknown men called out to her. "They began beating me up sharply; they conveyed 'hello' from law enforcers and said: 'You understand that you can't do this anymore.' Then, I lost consciousness. I woke up at hospital," the young woman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
