Law enforcers block car with Ibragim Gadjiev
The court in Makhachkala found no violations in the actions of Ibragim Gadjiev, a witness in the case against the policemen, Raip and Ziyavudin Ashikov, who was accused of disobeying law enforcers during the search. After the court session, Gadjiev was set free, but law enforcers did not allow him to drive away from the courthouse, insisting on interrogation at the police station.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 31, armed men took Ibragim away from his home in Makhachkala as a witness in the above case. Sapiyat Magomedova, a Gadjiev'a advocate, has suggested that these were the law enforcers sent from some other region. The ambulance doctors who came to Gadjiev at the police station fixed traces of beatings and the use of electric current on his body, said Uma Askerkhanova, a member of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of Dagestan.
On April 1, the Kirov District Court of Makhachkala considered the administrative protocol against Gadjiev, who was accused of disobeying the policemen's lawful demands during a search on March 31, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has reported.
At about 8:00 p.m. Moscow time, the court announced the decision to stop the case, since it found no offence in Gadjiev's actions.
After the end of the session, Gadjiev got into his relative's car, but law enforcers did not allow them to drive away, blocking the passage with their cars. They offered the advocates with Gadjiev to go to the police station for interrogation.
