Georgian Foreign Affairs call international community to assess Abkhazian actions in the Galskiy District
"On March 1, 2007, within the security zone, the so-called law enforcement bodies of Sukhumi regime opened fire at the group of local youth of Georgian and Abkhazian nationality who were publicly expressing their opinions on the so-called parliamentary elections appointed on March 4, and on the violent policy of the separatist regime. As a result of the violent action, three peaceful citizens, participants of the event, were kidnapped and are currently detained by the Abkhazian party," runs the statement of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs made in connection with detention of three local residents of Georgian nationality on March 1 in the Galskiy District.
"In this context, it is necessary to note the criminal inaction of the Russian peace-making forces," the document states.
In Abkhazia, they assert that the detainees are the members of the Georgian patriotic group who were planning provocations in the Galskiy District.
