Dmitry Peskov: law enforcers to examine journalists' investigation into murder of Boris Nemtsov

The materials of the journalistic investigation into the murder of Boris Nemtsov are available to the law enforcement bodies, and they will pay attention to the publication if it contains new information, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the President of Russia, suggests.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about the joint journalistic investigation conducted by the "Mediazona" and the Scanner Project. According to the above journalistic investigation, the chronology of calls and videos and the information about air travel points to the involvement of several natives of Chechnya in the assassination of Boris Nemtsov: they were not sentenced, although identified.

Russian politician Boris Nemtsov was shot dead in Moscow on February 27, 2015. In 2017, the court found five natives of Chechnya guilty of committing the murder, and sentenced them to prison terms ranging from 11 to 20 years.

Today, while answering the question whether it is worth reopening the investigation into the oppositionist's murder after the publication released by the "Mediazona", Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the President of Russia, has said that if the publication about the last days of Boris Nemtsov contains any new information, the law enforcement bodies will "pay attention to it."

Dmitry Peskov has refused to assess the investigation conducted by journalists. "I do not know any nuances of the case. And therefore I cannot express any position here," said the press secretary for the President of Russia as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".
