Peacekeepers state more frequent provocations from the Georgian party
In these latter days, provocations in the deployment area of Russian peacekeeping posts in the Abkhazian-Georgian conflict zone have become more frequent. Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Diordiev, assistant of the Commander of the CIS Collective Peacekeeping Forces (CIS CPKF) in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone, has told today to the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot."
In his words, "certain representatives of mass media often disseminated unverified and, sometimes, obviously false information, in which they try to expose Russian peacekeepers in the most unattractive form."
The CIS CPKF ere deployed the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone on June 21, 1994, in accordance with the Moscow's Agreement on ceasefire and detachment of forces of May 14, 1994. During their service in the conflict zone, 112 peacekeepers perished.
