Navalny's office coordinator beaten up in Makhachkala
Ruslan Ablyakimov, an activist, who has recently became the coordinator of Navalny's office in Makhachkala, was beaten up by unknown assailants. Prior to the attack, Ablyakimov reported that he was shadowed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 23, when Navalny's supporters were holding marches and pickets in his support throughout Russia, Makhachkala law enforcers conducted mass detentions in the central square of the city. The detainees complained about the use of force against them.
The attack on Ruslan Ablyakimov was reported by the "Navalny's Team" Telegram channel. "No sooner had we opened our office in Makhachkala, than our coordinator was already being pursued and beaten up," says the message.
Ruslan Ablyakimov himself posted his photo after the beating on the Twitter. The activist's face shows swelling and minor abrasions.
"Many are now asking about my condition. I am alive, but those who beat me are still shadowing me. That's all for now; hope everything will be fine," he wrote at 0:26 a.m. Moscow time today.
According to his story, he is now safe, but fears that he could be beaten up again, or they can plant something on him, the "OVD-Info" reports.
