Peskov forwards material about extrajudicial executions in Chechnya to law enforcers

Today, while commenting on the material about victims of the extrajudicial executions released by the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta", Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the President of Russia, has said that the newspaper's material cannot be considered as evidence of extrajudicial executions and that law enforcers should deal with such information.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 16, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the President of Russia, voiced his intention to look through with the article of the "Novaya Gazeta" about the detention by Chechen law enforcers of 108 people, some of whom fell victim to the extrajudicial executions.

Today, while commenting on the material released by the "Novaya Gazeta", Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the President of Russia, has noted that a post of the media cannot be considered as evidence of extrajudicial executions in Chechnya.

"The very concept of extrajudicial executions can only be regarded from the point of view of the law. Such actions are punishable by law. And the rest is a matter of the law enforcement agencies," said Dmitry Peskov as quoted by the "Interfax".

According to the Russian President's press secretary, the material of the "Novaya Gazeta" should be examined by the law enforcement bodies.
