Family of suspect for drug trafficking in Dagestan leaves Tarki after decision of alims

Relatives of Ullubiy Amirov, detained on suspicion of drug possession after a murder, which caused a wide public outcry, left the Makhachkala village of Tarki in accordance with the decision of the alims (Islam experts). Local residents associated such a harsh measure to the fact that the father of Ullubiy Amirov did not try to "normalize relations with the society."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 3, 23-year-old Vali Abduragimov, who tried to fight against drug dealers, was killed in Makhachkala. On January 6, in the village of Tarki, during a discussion of the murder, a mass fight took place, in which Kerim Khairullaev was killed. The police detained two local residents on suspicion of the above murders. On January 8, the local alims decided to evict the family of a murder suspect. Caucasian experts called the alims' decision unprecedented.

The alims' decision to evict the family of the suspected drug dealer affected only the suspect's close relatives, including his father, mother, and brother, a local activist says.

Another public figure added that Ullubiy Amirov served in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), but quit his job after activists suspected him of involvement in drug trafficking.

The man detained in the village of Tarki on suspicion of drug possession is not a policeman, the Dagestani MIA reports.
