Azerbaijani authorities begin setting up posts in Lachin District

In the Lachin District, which has today come under Azerbaijan's control, they began setting up commandant posts. The peacemakers have cleared the section the Lachin Corridor connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia of unexploded ordnances.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Lachin District came under Azerbaijan's control, except for the corridor connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia. This is the last of the three districts that Azerbaijan was supposed to occupy under the armistice agreement.

The list of 52 dwelling settlements of the district that has passed over to Azerbaijan, published by the Armenian government, does not include the city of Berdzor (the Azerbaijani name is Lachin) and the village of Agavno (the Azerbaijani name is Zabukh). The Karabakh people from Berdzor and Agavno, although they left their homes, are unaware of what will happen next.

Today, "what Azerbaijan had been striving for since 1992 has happened," noted the blogger of the "Caucasian Knot" under the nickname "Wind from Apsheron".

"The Armenians remaining in Lachin can turn to Russian peacemakers, whom the Armenians trust. I am sure that peacemakers will put Armenians into buses and safely take them to Armenia, from where they arrived in Lachin 28 years ago. Nobody has lost anything. Azerbaijanis and Armenians have returned to their homelands," the blogger wrote.
