Number of refugees-returnees to Nagorno-Karabakh reaches almost 7000

Russian peacemakers are ensuring safe return of residents of Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia; about 7000 people have already returned, the Russian Defence Minister has stated.

Some refugees are not ready to return to Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia, as they are worry about their safety and do not know how to restore houses and households affected by shelling. Some do not want to leave their wounded relatives in Yerevan hospitals.

The "Caucasian Knot" has drafted a map to show the territories that will pass over to Azerbaijan after the autumn war. Also, the "Caucasian Knot" has published a deployment map of the Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Russian peacemakers have ensured safe corridors on the road from Armenia to Stepanakert, and the passage of all columns with refugees; and specialists of the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) are engaged in the restoration of life-supporting facilities in Karabakh, the MoD has stated.

In the opinion of human rights defenders, the Karabakh authorities have assigned meagre payments to refugees; and the support of them is not organized at the proper level. The residents of Stepanakert, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", have complained that officials are indifferent to the townspeople who had lost their houses.
