In Italy, native of Chechnya detained in case on terror act in Vienna

Italian law enforcers detained Turko Arsimekov, a native of Chechnya, on suspicion of making forged documents for members of an Austrian terrorist grouping, the Corriere della Sera reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening on November 2, a series of terror acts took place in the capital of Austria. One of the gunmen was killed. According to the Austrian authorities, he was a supporter of the "Islamic State" (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"). By November 5, at least 15 people had been detained in connection with the investigation into the case on the terror acts.

Turko Arsimekov, a 35-year-old native of Chechnya, was detained in Italy on suspicion of involvement in the Austrian terrorist grouping, which also included the gunman killed in Vienna on November 2. According to the police, Turko Arsimekov regularly prepared documents for members of the above terrorist grouping. At his home, the police found about 30 false documents for different countries of Eastern Europe, ready to be sent, the Italian Corriere della Sera reported on November 12.

Turko Arsimekov often received money transfers from Austria in the amounts of 300-400 euros, and investigators associated those transfers with the arms trafficking. The Italian authorities received the information about Turko Arsimekov from the Austrian law enforcement agencies. In Italy, the native of Chechnya applied for asylum, but was refused. The Italian authorities requested the Russian secret services to provide the information whether the name of Turko Arsimekov appeared among fighters of the Second Chechen War, the Corriere della Sera reported.
