Natives of Northern Caucasus detained after terror acts in Vienna

After the terror acts in Vienna, the Austrian authorities detained natives of Northern Caucasus and the Balkan countries, Russian Ambassador to Austria Dmitry Lyubinsky reported.

On November 2, a series of attacks took place in the Austrian capital, and four persons were killed. One of the gunmen was killed. He was a supporter of the "Islamic State" (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the "Caucasian Knot").

While commenting on the situation on the air of the "Russia-1" TV Channel, the Russian Ambassador said that numerous detentions of "migrants from a number of the Balkan countries, the Islamic world, and Northern Caucasus" had taken place not only in Vienna, but also in other cities of Austria.

Let us remind you that on October 16, teacher Samuel Paty, who showed his students the caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad, was beheaded in the suburbs of Paris. An attacker was a Russian citizen of Chechen origin who had refugee status in France.

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that the country will not refuse the publications of such cartoons. After that, Ramzan Kadyrov accused Emmanuel Macron of fomenting extremist ideas, and Chechen Mufti Salakh Mezhiev declared the French president "a terrorist number one."
