Nagorno-Karabakh reports missile strike on Shushi

Azerbaijani militaries have shelled the city of Shushi and nearby villages; authorities are studying the damage and the number of victims, the Emergency Service of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on October 26, a new agreement on a humanitarian truce in the Karabakh conflict zone entered into force, but already during the first hours after, the parties exchanged accusations of violating the truce.

In the morning on October 28, the Azerbaijani militaries shelled the city of Shushi (the Azerbaijani name is Shusha, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), the Emergency Service of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported. "In the morning, in parallel with the hostilities, Azerbaijan resumed shelling of peaceful settlements. The situation in the village of Avetaranots (Chanakhchi) of the Askeran District (occupying the territory of Khojaly and part of the Agdam Districts) remains tense. And a little earlier the city of Shushi was subjected to a missile attack," Unan Tadevosyan, an employee of the press service of the Emergency Service of Nagorno-Karabakh, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to preliminary data, there are no casualties, Mr Tadevosyan has added. "There are no victims in Shushi, as the population is in bomb shelters. The scale of damage is being specified," he told the "Caucasian Knot".
