Sources give details of teacher's murder in France

Abdulak Anzorov, a Chechen and the alleged killer of Samuel Paty, a French teacher, had bought information about the victim for 300 euros, sources inform. Two teenagers suspected of selling information to the killer and five others persons will face trial.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a total of 16 people were detained within the case of the teacher's murder. On October 20, six of them were released, including Anzorov's parents, grandfather and a younger brother.

According to the France-Presse, two teenagers suspected of providing the terrorist with information about the teacher, Anzorov's father, who had criticized Samuel Paty, Abdelkhakim Sefriui, an Islamist activist, and three attacker's friends, who had accompanied him when buying weapons, remain in custody.

The assassinated teacher had shown caricatures on Prophet Muhammad from the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo to his pupils. The Chechen Muftiate had cursed this magazine for caricatures. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has condemned the murder of Paty, but treated the disrespectful attitude towards Islam as a provocation. There are many Kadyrov sympathizers in Europe; and Anzorov could fall under their influence, Djambulat Suleimanov, the head of the French Association of Chechens, has noted.

On October 20, a march in memory of Samuel Paty was held in Paris. The country's Ministry of Education has announced that he will be posthumously awarded the Legion of Honour, the France's highest state award.
