Residents of frontline Azerbaijani areas tell about shelling consequences

As a result of intensive artillery shelling of dwelling settlements of the Terter and Agdam Districts of Azerbaijan, there are victims among the civilian population; houses and the civilian infrastructure have been destroyed, local residents have stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 10, an agreement on ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone entered into force, but the parties to the conflict continued to report about battles and shelling attacks.

In the morning on October 15, the filming team of the state "AzTV" came under fire, Elnur Tofig, a state TV reporter, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"As a result of the shelling, a school in the village of Duyarli of the Terter District was destroyed. We went there for filming. When we were there, the shelling resumed. When we ran to our car, our driver was slightly wounded by shrapnel. The car was also damaged, its windshield was broken. However, our driver was still able to drive the car. We also took a wounded local resident with us, because at that time there was no other transport in the village," Elnur Tofig said, adding that the shelling continued throughout the day.

The settlement of Shikharkh, located within the city of Terter, was heavily shelled, said Aga Balaev, a local resident.

“Our dwelling settlement consists of 34 five-storey houses, built for forced migrants. As a result of everyday shelling, almost all the houses have damages," Mr Balaev has added.

The Tartar Executive Authority has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that about 520 shells were fired at the city and villages of the district during the day. As a result, one resident perished, and eight others were wounded.

The villages of Agdam District were also exposed to intensive shelling. "About 40 shells hit our village and around; four of them hit private households and damaged houses. Today (on October 14), no one was hurt," said Azer Azizov, a resident of the Chemenli village.
