Relatives demand to give out bodies of suspects killed by law enforcers in Ingushetia
Investigators refused to give out the bodies of the Lolokhoev brothers and Aslangirei Gadaborshev, killed by law enforcers in counterterrorist operations (CTOs), to their relatives. The latter considered the investigators' refusal as unfounded and filed a lawsuit to the Magas District Court.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 23, in the village of Troitskoye, law enforcers conducted a special operation. As a result, according to the law enforcement bodies' information, three supporters of the "Islamic State" (a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") were killed, and two law enforcers were injured. The suspects killed by the law enforcers, were identified as Magomed Saraliev, Aslangirei Gadaborshev, and Ibragim Lolokhoev, the "Ingushetia" NTRK (National TV and Radio Broadcast Company) reported. According to the intelligence services, the suspects were plotting to commit a series of terror acts in Ingushetia.
Isa Lolokhoev and Sharip Saldaev, included in the federal wanted list, were killed in another special operation, which took place near the village of Galashki in the Sunzha District on August 17-18, the "Ingushetia" NTRK reported.
On October 13, the mother of Ibragim and Isa Lolokhoev and the wife of Aslangirei Gadaborshev filed to the Magas District Court the lawsuits against the Investigating Department for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) with a request to declare illegal the refusal to give out the bodies of the killed suspects to the relatives for burial, the press service for the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" reported on the same day.
According to the position of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), depriving relatives of the opportunity to participate in funeral rites violates Article 8 (right to respect for private and family life) of the European Convention on Human Rights, the HRC "Memorial" reports.
