Social network users treat gathering against Chechen blogger as forced

The participants of the gathering in Chechnya, who cursed their relative, the blogger Said-Khusein Magomadov, who had emigrated to Europe and now lives in Austria, did it against their will, Instagram users are sure, pointing to the principle of collective responsibility that is in force in the republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Said-Khusein Magomadov's relatives had held a gathering, where they cursed him for his texts criticizing Ramzan Kadyrov and Chechen authorities.

Some of the readers of the "Caucasian Knot" public on the Instagram believe that pressure was exerted on the participants of the gathering. "Poor people; as always, they were intimidated. They (authorities) can do it," the user _eto_ya_999 has written. "Kadyrov has frightened everyone," the user zakiriarani1984 has added. "It's understandable that they were forced to," the user s_al_avari has stated.

A social network user djanioma_03_02 has expressed her weariness from the streams of denunciations of Kadyrov's critics. "Will it ever end? Like a broken record – the same thing all the time," she wrote.

Residents of Chechnya have repeatedly and publicly criticized their relatives for expressing oppositional views. For example, in September, the participants of gathering in Urus-Martan demanded from emigrants not to interfere in Chechnya's matters, and in an insulting manner criticized their relative Akhmed Zakaev for supporting the 1Adat Telegram Channel.
