Death toll of strike on Ganja reaches nine

The shelling of an apartment building in the centre of the city of Ganja killed nine civilians, including four women, the Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) reported on October 11.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the fighting in the conflict zone began on September 27, and at midday on October 10, a ceasefire agreement in the conflict zone entered into force. However, the parties continued accusing each other of violating the ceasefire.

"As a result of a missile attack committed by Armenian Armed Forces on an apartment building in central Ganja, nine people were killed," says the press release posted on the GPO's website.

In its turn, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed casualties among civilians. "Armenian <...> continue exposing Azerbaijani cities and villages to missile and artillery attacks <...>. As a result of the shelling, there are numerous casualties among the civilian population; serious damage has been caused to the civilian infrastructure," says the MoD's website.
