After explosions, Stepanakert townspeople hide in basements

On Monday (October 5), two explosions were heard in Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabak; local residents are hiding in basements.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 4, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) reported that Azerbaijani militaries were firing missiles at civilian targets in Stepanakert. Townspeople were forced to take refuge in bomb shelters. Since the start of the aggravation of the conflict in Karabakh, 18 civilians have perished, including a child; and about 80 people have been wounded.

Also on Monday, Azerbaijan announced the shelling of three cities by Armenia.

Earlier, on October 4, the administration of the Azerbaijani President claimed that two cities were subjected to missile attacks from the Armenian side; and areas near Baku were also hit. As a result, civilians were wounded.
