Azerbaijani MoD announces shelling of border settlements

Fierce battles took place at night on the frontline; the city of Tartar and 14 villages of the Tartar, Agdam, Agdjebdin and Goranboy Districts came under fire of Armenian militaries, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the Armenian MoD stated that Azerbaijani militaries had launched an offensive in the northern and western directions of the borders of Nagorno-Karabakh; and fierce battles were underway.  Nagorno-Karabakh has reported three downed Azerbaijani aircrafts. According to the data of Nagorno-Karabakhs, the losses in the Azerbaijani manpower have exceeded 3000. Azerbaijan has not confirmed this information.

"The situation at the front remains tense. Fierce battles along the entire frontline continue," the press service of the Azerbaijani MoD claims in its statement received by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the statement, at night the city of Terter, the villages of Shakhlaabad, Gaziyan, Gapanly, Gainag, Askipara and Husanli of the Terter District, the village of Ayag Garvand, Imamgulubeili, Garadagly and Tezekend of the Agdam District, and of Muganly, Giyameddinli, Randjbarlar of the Agdjebdin District, and of Tapgaragoyunlu of the Goranboy District. In the morning, the shelling of the villages of Guzanly, Alibeili and Ayag Garvand of the Agdam District continued, the Azerbaijani MoD has stated.
