Azerbaijan accused Armenia of shelling Terter

Fights in the Karabakh conflict zone continue for the second day; the city of Terter was shelled from the territories controlled by the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported. The Armenian MoD has accused the Azerbaijani side of using heavy flamethrowers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 27, fights broke out in the Karabakh conflict zone. According to the MoDs of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia, 31 soldiers of the Karabakh Defence Army and two civilians – a child and a woman – have perished today; and about 200 soldiers and about 30 civilians have been wounded. The Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has reported that as a result of the shelling from heavy guns, five local residents were killed and another 19 were wounded.

This morning, the Armenian Armed Forces have shelled the city of Terter, located in the Karabakh conflict zone, the Azerbaijani MoD has reported. "The leadership of the MoD is warning the enemy for the last time that we will take adequate retaliatory measures against them," reads the message of the MoD, which was translated into Russian by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Besides, the MoD has spread information about the enemy's losses. "The Armenian Army suffered serious losses: 22 tanks and other armoured vehicles, 15 OSA anti-aircraft missile systems, 18 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or drones), and 8 artillery installations were destroyed. The enemy's losses in manpower amounted to more than 550 killed and wounded militaries," reads the press release of the Azerbaijani MoD, which was translated into Russian by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The Armenian MoD has not yet commented on this statement on its website, but has accused the Azerbaijani side of using a heavy flamethrower system.
