Armenia and Azerbaijan exchange statements on captured military equipment
The Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh captured 11 armoured vehicles of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported. The Azerbaijani MoD, in its turn, has reported about the captured and destroyed Armenian armoured vehicles in the battlefield.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 27, fights broke out in the Karabakh conflict zone. According to the MoDs of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia, 31 soldiers of the Karabakh Defence Army and two civilians – a child and a woman – have perished today; and about 200 soldiers and about 30 civilians have been wounded. The Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has reported that as a result of the shelling from heavy guns, five local residents were killed and another 19 were wounded.
As a result of a counterattack, units of the Karabakh Defence Army captured 11 armoured vehicles of the Azerbaijani Army with ammunition, including a BMP-3 (infantry combat vehicle), Artsrun Ovannisyan, the spokesman for the operative headquarters created in connection with the escalation of the conflict, wrote on the Facebook.
Fights continue along the entire perimeter of the Karabakh front, Shushan Stepanyan, the press secretary of the Armenian MoD told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. She also told about 11 armoured vehicles of the Azerbaijani Army captured by the Karabakh Defence Army.
In its turn, the MoD of Azerbaijan reported that the Armed Forces of Armenia, by retreating, left their armoured vehicles in the battlefield. The MoD posted a video on the YouTube, showing, according to the MoD, the footage of the equipment destroyed and abandoned by Armenian units in the battlefield.
