FSB reports capture of man involved in recruitment of Dagestani residents for IS
The FSB reported about the detention of a man suspected in organizing the recruitment of residents of Dagestan and other regions into the "Islamic State", a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court. According to the FSB, the detainee is also suspected of financing militants.
In Dagestan, Tatarstan, and the Tyumen Region, a special operation took place, as a result of which the terrorist financing techniques and the routes of the secret movement of militants were revealed. The organizer has been detained, the RIA "Novosti" reported with reference to the Public Relations Centre for the Russian FSB.
The suspected member of the "Islamic State" was detained in Tatarstan. "The suspect was following the instructions from IS emissaries. He was recruiting and sending citizens of Russia and the CIS countries to Syria," the TASS quotes the Russian FSB as reporting.
According to the law enforcement body, the detainee had accomplices in Dagestan, Tatarstan, and the Tyumen Region.
