Azerbaijan and Armenia blame each other for shelling at the border
During the last 24 hours the positions of Azerbaijani Army stationed in the villages near the Armenian border and in the Karabakh conflict zone were shelled for 65 times, the country's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated. In its turn, today, the Armenian MoD has counted 22 shelling attacks of its positions.
On July 12, the conflict on the Armenian-Azerbaijani escalated; according to official information, by July 29, six Armenian soldiers were killed. The Azerbaijani authorities reported persons 13 killed by July 16; 12 of them were militaries, and one was a civilian.
The Azerbaijani positions deployed in the villages of Agdam, Agbulag and Mundjuglu of the Tovuz District, in the village of Zamanly and on nameless heights in the Gadabay District came under fire, the official Baku has noted. The fire was also delivered from the territories that Azerbaijan treats as its occupied ones.
During the night, Azerbaijani militaries fired 497 shots towards the Armenian positions, Shushan Stepanyan, the press secretary of the Armenian MoD, wrote on the Facebook. "However, this morning, there is a relative peace on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border," she has added.
