Instagram users criticize video about Ramzan Kadyrov in White House

The "Grozny" TV Channel released a humorous video about Ramzan Kadyrov breaking into the White House with machine guns. The video continued a series of statements voiced by the authorities of Chechnya concerning the US sanctions imposed against the leader of the republic. Some Instagram users found the video to be funny, while others made fun of its authors. Blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov mentioned "clowning" as a specific feature of the Chechen authorities' policy.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the authorities of Chechnya reacted sharply to the new US sanctions imposed against Ramzan Kadyrov. Magomed Daudov, the chairman of the Chechen parliament, called on the US Department of State to include the entire population of the Chechen Republic in the sanctions lists, while Mufti Salakh Mezhiev declared the US Department of State to be a "terrorist organization No. 1."

The Chechen "Grozny" TV Company has prepared a humorous video showing actors portraying US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US President Donald Trump who are discussing imposition of sanctions against Ramzan Kadyrov. At that moment, Ramzan Kadyrov is breaking into the White House with machine guns. "Well, Mr. Trump and Mr. Pompeo, will we go out and talk?" says an actor portraying the leader of Chechnya. The actors portraying Mike Pompeo and Donald Trump express their fear.

In their comments, most of Instagram users wrote that the video made them laugh. User imiafaa expressed the indignation that such a video was released amid economic problems faced by Chechnya in connection with the spread of the coronavirus infection.

The sanctions against the leader of Chechnya are only of symbolic nature, since they only ban Ramzan Kadyrov and his family members from entering the United States, blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov states.
