Suspects in Mamikhan Umarov's murder reported

Two persons detained in Austria on suspicion of involvement in the murder of blogger Mamikhan Umarov are natives of Chechnya, who have been living in Europe with refugee status for more than 15 years, the Austrian media and sources from the Chechen Diaspora report.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 4, Mamikhan Umarov, a native of Chechnya, also known as "Anzor from Vienna", was killed in Vienna. In his videos, the blogger openly criticized and repeatedly insulted Ramzan Kadyrov and his parents by using the uncontrolled vocabulary.

Mamikhan Umarov was born in 1977 in Argun, and since 2005 he lived in Austria with documents to the name of Beck Martin. Since 2008, he collaborated with Austrian special services, received orders for organizing murders in Europe, Turkey and other countries, including Adam Osmaev and Amina Okueva in Ukraine; this follows from Umarov's interview with the Ukrainian "Free Channel" of February 3, 2020.

Two natives of Chechnya were detained on suspicion of the murder of Mamikhan Umarov in Austria, a source from one of the Chechen Diasporas in Europe reports. According to the source, one of the suspects has been living in Europe since 2002, and the other – since 2004, the "Kavkaz.Realii" reports with disclosing the names and surnames of both detainees.

"Both of them had refugee status. There is no exact information concerning their possible connection with the Chechen authorities. However, it is known that [one of them] used to work for the antiterrorist centre in Urus-Martan," said a member of the Chechen Diaspora as quoted by the "Kavkaz.Realii".

This evening, the Austrian edition "Österreich" has also made public the surname of the alleged killer which matches the surname mentioned by the source from the Chechen Diaspora. "The man with earlier criminal records [...] who lived not far from Linz shot to his (Umarov's) head," reports the edition as translated by the "Caucasian Knot".
