"Open Media": for several years, Kadyrov failed to declare his Moscow apartment

The head of Chechnya has owned an apartment in Moscow for eight years, but he didn't show it in his tax declarations, the "Open Media" has reported. This Kadyrov family's apartment was mentioned at trial of the murder case of the opposition leader, Boris Nemtsov.

According to "Rosreestr", in 2000, the apartment of 153.6 square meters was received by Akhmat Kadyrov. His neighbours in the house were generals, politicians and state servants.

In January 2002, Akhmat's wife, two daughters and Ramzan Kadyrov with his family also became the owners of the apartment. After the death of Akhmat Kadyrov in 2004, the apartment became the property of his family; and in 2010, Aimani, Ramzan's mother, became the sole owner of the Moscow apartment.

The fact that the Kadyrov family owned an apartment in Moscow was reported by Vadim Prokhorov, an advocate of Boris Nemtsov's family, the "Novaya Gazeta" reported. Ruslan Geremeev, a Chechen officer of the "Sever" (North) battalion, who was declared wanted in connection with Nemtsov's murder, lived in the same street.

  • Compensation decrease for illegal prosecution violates rights of KBR resident

The court ruling, which awarded Madin Gubzhokov compensation of 30,000 roubles for unlawful criminal prosecution, is incomparable with the moral harm caused by the actions of Azamat Kyaov, a former law enforcer. The amount is ridiculous and should be appealed against, lawyers and human rights defenders have stated.
