Relatives of deceased girl from Gudermes apologize to Kadyrov

At a meeting with the participation of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, the family of the deceased young woman from Gudermes has apologized for their words about the violent death of their daughter. Apologies were shown on air of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Chechen Prosecutor initiated an inquiry into reports about the murder by a Gudermes resident of his wife. On June 20, the body of the young woman was exhumed by investigators. Authorities decided to exhume the body due to the public resonance, Svetlana Gannushkina, a human rights defender, believes. However, the republic's leadership is not interested in an inquiry that can prove a law enforcer's guilt, said Ruslan Kutaev, the President of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations.

The woman tried to leave her husband because of beatings, relatives of the deceased assert. The woman's mother believes that they are trying to fence off her daughter's husband, since he is a military serviceman.

At a meeting at the Gudermes Mayoralty, where Ramzan Kadyrov was present, Vitaly Volkov, the head of the Chechen branch of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), said that the autopsy results of the body would be ready "in about a week and a half." He noted that the expert who examined the body visually found no violence traces, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who watched the June 23 story by the "Grozny" ChGTRK, reports.

The TV Channel also showed the speech by Ramzan Kadyrov, who demanded from the mother of the deceased woman to disclose the source of information about the young woman's violent death.

According to the mother, Khutmat Dovletmirzaeva, she made such conclusions after the call of an unknown woman.

The deceased woman's relatives apologized for their assumptions about the violence against her. "I ask everyone to forgive me. I was wrong; I listened to everything that people say. I want to apologize to the head of [Chechnya] and everyone," said the mother.
