Refutation video about beatings in Samashki causes doubts among villagers

The women, who had spread messages about beatings of residents of the village of Samashki for ignoring the self-isolation regime, have apologized. The respective video has appeared in the public on the Instagram, which is supported by the Chechen government. Locals have criticized the authors of the video clip.

The "Caucasian Knot" has wrote that in the village of Samashki, Achkhoi-Martan District, law enforcers beat up a man, who had gone out on Eid al-Fitr despite the quarantine regime, and his female relative, a local resident has reported.

A Samashki villager has violated the self-isolation regime, the Instagram user, who presented himself as the Qadi of the Achkhoi-Martan District, has confirmed the fact in the group Chp.grozny_95.

According to his story, the villagers who had recorded their audio messages could not be eyewitnesses to the events. "None of what they said is true, because one of the women who made this recording lives in Naur, the other lives in the outskirt of Samashki. They simply could not possess this information. They have disgraced first of all their husbands, brothers and fathers," the man has stated.

The video clip also demonstrates the apology of the women, who claim that they had recorded the audio messages about the beatings of villagers by law enforcers, but had not seen the incident itself. "I myself didn't see anything; I just believed the records that were sent via the WhatsApp. But from now on, I won't say anything like that [...] Excuse me," says one of the women.

The video posted on the Internet has no those quarantine violators, one of Samashki villagers told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"They show everyone, except the (quarantine violators). Why not ask them for apology for the fakes? Because the woman has a haematoma under her eye and the guy's head is broken. With such a clip, the concept collapses," the villager thus questions the allegations of unreliability of information.
