Astrakhan residents support solo picket against constitutional amendments

Elena Baibekova from Astrakhan has held a solo picket against amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Passers-by have supported the activist.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 11, 2020, the bill on constitutional amendments was adopted by both houses of the Federal Assembly. The All-Russian vote for amendments was scheduled for April 22, but was postponed due to the spread of coronavirus.

Elena Baibekova went on her picket on May 25 in one of the central mini-parks of the city. A lot of people walked past the picket; a significant part of them supported the woman; they took photographs, raised their thumbs in approval and shouted cheers.

"I think that most children in Russia have no future ... Because there's nowhere to study. Even if you get a good education, there's nowhere to work ... I think that the power should be changed. And they won't abandon the idea of voting," Elena Baibekova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The picket ended without incidents.
