NKR accuses Azerbaijan of attempted diversion

Azerbaijan has suffered losses in a shootout while attempting a diversionary invasion, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has reported.

"On May 22, the opponent attempted a diversionary invasion in the direction of the defensive point of the military unit of our Defence Army," the NKR's MoD has claimed.

According to the MoD, the advanced units of the NKR's Defence Army promptly responded to the "offensive of the Azerbaijani special forces." "The Azerbaijani special agents having suffered losses were thrown back to their initial positions. The Defence Army of Artsakh (the NKR) suffered no losses," the MoD has reported.

The MoD called on Azerbaijan to "refrain from the futile tactics of artificially escalating the situation."
