Dagestani leader reports hundreds of pneumonia victims in republic

In Dagestan, since the beginning of the pandemic, 481 people died from viral pneumonia, the leader of the republic reports today. According to him, in April 2020, the incidence of pneumonia increased by 33.6% compared to 2019.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Dagestan leads by the growth of new cases of the coronavirus infection in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD). Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2888 cases of the coronavirus infection were registered in the republic, and 23 people died.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, in Dagestan, 481 people died from community-acquired pneumonia, reported Dagestani leader Vladimir Vasiliev on the air of the "Dagestan" RGVK (Republican State Broadcasting Company).

According to Vladimir Vasiliev, the authorities of the region have no purpose to hide statistics on the incidence of the coronavirus infection. Meanwhile, the leader of Dagestan noted that prior to the autopsy results it is definitely difficult to make a final diagnosis whether a patient died of pneumonia or COVID-19.

In April 2020, in Dagestan, the incidence of viral pneumonia increased by 33.6% compared to that indicator in April 2019, the leader of Dagestan also reported.
