Akhmetkhanov who disappeared in Chechnya returns home

Aslambek Akhmetkhanov, a businessman, who disappeared in early April after being publicly scolded by Ramzan Kadyrov, has returned to his native village of Gekhi, Instagram users have informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 1, the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) showed a story about how Ramzan Kadyrov, in harsh words, rebuked Aslambek Akhmetkhanov, the head of an oil company, for drinking alcohol and shooting into the air. Akhmetkhanov publicly apologized to the head of Chechnya, but after that, according to his fellow villagers, did not appear in the village of Gekhi and stopped contacting.

Ramzan Kadyrov would not limit himself to verbal scolding Akhmetkhanov, Gekhi villagers have suggested. Some Internet users expressed concerns for the life and health of Aslambek Akhmetkhanov. Other debaters suggested that the entrepreneur was detained or hiding.

The message about Akhmetkhanov's return to Gekhi, posted on April 27 in the Instagram public "ChP/Grozny", is illustrated by a video filmed in the house yard. The video shows smiling Aslambek Akhmetkhanov surrounded by his close relatives.

Islam, a villager, has confirmed to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Aslambek Akhmetkhanov returned to Gekhi on April 29.
