Dagestan shows highest COVID-19 death toll in Southern Russia
By April 21, the regions of Southern Russia registered 49 deceased patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, at least seven died within last 24 hours. Dagestan, where 11 people have died since the beginning of the epidemic, continues to show the highest death toll among the regions of Southern Russia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 17, by the number of deaths among patients diagnosed with COVID-19, Dagestan was second only to Moscow where the death toll reached 127.
Out of 13 regions of the Southern Federal District (SFD) and the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), only two regions – the Rostov Region and Karachay-Cherkessia – have not registered any patient deaths, the website "Stopkoronavirus.ru" reports.
Meanwhile, in Southern Russia, the first death of a patient diagnosed with COVID-19 was registered in Chechnya on April 1.
