In the Tabasaran District, during a shootout, a car driver was killed by law enforcers. The shootout was preceded by a similar incident in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan in June 2019.
Today, one person has been killed in a shootout with law enforcers near the village of Darvaga in the Tabasaran District. According to sources, the car driver failed to comply with the law enforcers' requirements to stop his car and opened fire. The policemen opened fire in return.
According to the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources, the shootout in the Tabasaran District became the first armed incident in Dagestan with involvement of law enforcers since June 22, 2019.
On that day, in the Khasavyurt District, law enforcers tried to stop a VAZ-2109 car. Two residents of Makhachkala, who were inside the car, opened fire and were killed in a shootout, while no law enforcers and civilians were injured, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reported.
In the Tabasaran District, the recent armed incident occurred on October 2, 2016, when law enforcers encountered suspected militants near the village of Akka and requested them to surrender. In response, the suspects opened fire and were killed. The number of three killed suspects included Magomednabi Orudjev, the leader of the "Tabasaran" criminal grouping, the law enforcement bodies reported.
