Kadyrov faces criticism after family of quarantine violator addressed him

After the video appeal of the wife of Aslambek Akhmetkhanov, who asked Ramzan Kadyrov to forgive her husband, Facebook users have rebuked the head of Chechnya of trying to use women and children with the aim to put pressure on the entrepreneur.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Akhmetkhanov's wife treated the quarantine violation by her husband as a shame, and asked Kadyrov to forgive him. Akhmetkhanov disappeared from the village of Gekhi, his fellow villager has stated.

On April 1, the "Grozny" TV Channel showed a story about how Kadyrov reprimanded Akhmetkhanov for drinking alcohol with women and shooting in the air. Akhmetkhanov apologized to the head of Chechnya, explaining his behaviour with his birthday celebration.

The video clip, in which Akhmetkhanov's crying wife, surrounded by her daughters, addresses Kadyrov, was posted on the Facebook.

Kadyrov's harsh reaction to Akhmetkhanov's behaviour is related to his ridicule against the quarantine regime that got into the video, Ruslan Martagov, a political analyst, believes. He also pointed to the inadmissibility of public drinking alcohol in Chechnya. Akhmetkhanov violated the government's ban on shooting, Ruslan Kutaev, the head of the Association of Caucasian Nations, has noted.
