Turkey held actions against recognition of Armenians' genocide
The Workers' Party of Turkey and a number of other organizations of the country have organized a protest action opposite the building of the French General Consulate in Istanbul under slogans "Genocide of Armenians is an imperialistic lie" and "No to French goods." Dogu Perindzhek, Secretary General of the Worker's Party who spoke at the action declared that "the so-called Armenians' genocide is an invention of imperialistic forces who try to use this topic in their aggressive plans," the IA "Regnum" reports.
Meanwhile, the French government has stated today that they do not support the Armenians' genocide bill, in support of which the lower chamber of the parliament has voted today. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France has declared that the bill should pass ratification by the upper chamber, the senate, and that the government is still against adoption of this law.
The bill of Armenians' genocide, which was approved by the lower chamber of the parliament on October 12, qualifies the negation of the genocide of Armenians committed by Turks to be a crime and assumes introduction of punishment for such negation. Adoption of this bill up has aggravated the Turkish-French relations up to the boiling point.
