Residents of Azerbaijan complain about quarantine conditions

About 3000 suspected coronavirus patients are quarantined in hospitals of Azerbaijan. They have to achieve proper living conditions there.

As of March 26, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Azerbaijan reached 112; of whom three persons died, and 104 stayed in hospitals.

Overall, about 3000 people are under quarantine, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Joint Department of Medical Units.

"Now, the picture has changed. The infection has been revealed not only in those who had arrived from abroad; there are patients infected in the country, including in different regions," a Department official.

Nigyar Mubariz, a journalist, said that she returned to Azerbaijan on March 22 from Turkey.

"We were brought to hospital ... it was very dirty in the wards. Cockroaches were running in bathrooms and toilets," she said.

"At first, conditions were bad: the wards were dirty; and they gave us fresh linens after we had persistently demanded. It seems that the staff was not trained to immediately create proper conditions for new patients," Ragim Gasanov has added. However, later, everything became OK; and the staff proved to be hospitable and helpful, he said.

Adalyat Muradov, whose quarantine is over, said that he was one of the first to be isolated with his compatriots who had returned from Iran in February.

"Hot water was offered only in buckets. There were people after a heart attack among us. At first, they were not given the due medication; only after they started phoning and complaining, the proper treatment was prescribed to them," the man said.
