Casualty's defence rejects law enforcers' version about Baksan operation

Relatives of one of the killed alleged militants treat law enforcers' version of the armed clash in the Baksan District as dubious. Timur Baksanov was convicted of possessing cartridges and narcotic drugs after the confession, knocked out of him by threats, his advocate has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 24, three persons were killed in a shootout near the village of Kremenchug-Konstantinovskoye in the Baksan District. Two of the three casualties had served their prison terms for illegal dealing in explosives, a law enforcement source has reported.

Timur Baksanov, Alim Pekov and a certain Kokov were killed in Kremenchug-Konstantinovskoye, the source has specified.

According to Timur Baksanov's advocate, Timur's wife turned to him on March 23 and said that her husband disappeared the day before.

Baksanov's relatives and the advocate suppose that those three were shot dead not in the armed clash with law enforcers. The advocate did not rule out that during special operations "a lot of ambiguous things can happen."

Valery Khatazhukov, the chairman of the Public Human Rights Centre of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) and a member of the Adaptation Commission, has no information about the casualties.

Let us remind you that in 2019, six of the 18 inmates released within the case of the attack on Nalchik passed through the adaptation commission of militants.
