Georgia: number of coronavirus infected patients reaches 23

Eight more coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Georgia. The country's authorities have involves the police to control the locals, who violate the self-isolation regime due to the threat of the infection spread.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Georgia, two deputy ministers refused from social contacts due to suspected coronavirus. The Ministry of Public Health has urged the citizens, who are in self-isolation for the quarantine period to demonstrate "high social responsibility."

The health condition of one coronavirus patient is "grave", Tengiz Tsertsvadze, Director of the Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital, reported on air of the "Rustavi-2" TV Company.

New disease cases are linked with the "Italian cluster" – these are the people who had visited Italy, or who have become infected from them already in Georgia, the "News-Georgia" reports.

The Presidential Administration of Georgia has also announced that due to the threat of coronavirus, the head of state has cancelled her visits to Bulgaria, Ukraine and Belgium.
