Shootout in Alkun is the fourth armed incident in Ingushetia over 12 months

On March 4, the special operation, conducted in the village of Alkun, Sunzha District, during which a suspected militant was killed, was the first armed incident in Ingushetia in 2020 and the fourth one in the past 12 months. Law enforcers are searching for casualty's possible accomplices.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the man killed during the above special operation in Ingushetia, presumably was a native of Dagestan. According to a law enforcement source, he was killed in a shootout; his person was not identified by the moment of the incident.

The killed man had weapons, foodstuffs, and a sleeping bag with him, an informed source has reported. According to the source, law enforcers are conducting a series of actions to search for possible accomplices of the alleged militant, the "Interfax-South" reports.

The March 4 armed incident was the first in Ingushetia since the start of 2020, and the fourth one over the last 12 months, since March 2019. Overall, in 2019, four armed incidents occurred in the region.
