Students in Vladikavkaz publicly apologize for dancing

An African student and a girl publicly apologized for dancing in Vladikavkaz, which was regard as indecent by locals.

A video with apologies from students of North Ossetian State University was posted on January 26 on the Instagram account 'Vladikavkaz | Ossetia'.

"I want to apologize to all the Ossetian people for my indecent behavior. I've recently arrived in Ossetia and did not know that you shouldn’t behave like that. I promise that this will never happen again. I apologize to you," a young man says on video .

A video record of the incident, for which the student apologized, was posted on the same Instagram account two hours earlier. It shows a girl dancing to music surrounded by other students. An African student joined her, dancing behind the girl and repeating all her body movements, to which the audience reacts with shouts of approval.

Instagram users have argued whether the student who came from abroad should apologize in this case.

Some commentators said that the student had violated local rules of decency and should have apologized. Their opponents expressed the view that the young man should not have asked for forgiveness. "What does this guy have to do with it! The girl herself is to blame, she shouldn't have exposed herself like that!" - the user nina15_16 wrote.
