Chechen Prosecutor's Office promises to punish doctors for selling shoe covers
A video showing how shoe covers were sold to visitors of a hospital in Gudermes was the reason for the inspection from the Prosecutor's Office. Instagram users note that other medical institutions of the republic have similar practices.
In the above case, it was a violation of the rights of citizens, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by officials from the Prosecutor's Office.
Shoe covers should be given out free of charge in hospitals, an official from the Chechen Ministry for Public Health confirms. "Hospitals get for free syringes, bandages, and other supplies, including shoe covers. And all the above items are also given out for free," the official said.
The Gudermes Hospital is not the only one selling shoe covers, user davydovaanzhela3 writes.
User nteristos_83 recalls that in Chechnya, complainants have to apologize later. "We are looking forward to see an author of the video on the ChGTRK," the user wrote.
In December 2019, on the air of the "Grozny" State TV and Radio Company (known as ChGTRK), Adam Mutaev, a resident of Chechnya, apologized to doctors of the Gudermes Hospital for posting a video in which he complained about the absence of surgical sutures in the hospital for surgery on his brother's leg. The patient himself also apologized for the actions of his relative. However, residents of Chechnya have confirmed that hospital patients face the need to buy supplies for medical treatment.
