Makhachkala residents ridicule reconstruction of central square for 350 million

The funds donated to Makhachkala by the Mayor of Moscow have been spent inefficiently, local residents, who have criticized the quality of the work done, assert.

The reconstruction of the square is "a gift made by Sergey Sobyanin, who allocated 350 million roubles for the purpose," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the press service of the Makhachkala Mayoralty.

The opening ceremony of the central square of Makhachkala after reconstruction took place on December 28, 2019.

Rasul Ibragimov, a Makhachkalin resident, has stated that after the reconstruction of the square he didn't notice "any cardinal changes."

"I was in the square. They are holding people as fools! Many, many shortcomings given the amount spent!" the user guseinovalena wrote on the Instagram.

"Who has noticed changes worth 350 million roubles in central Makhachkala?" the Facebook user Magomed Magomedoovich asked the readers of the group "There's such an awful city" in this social network. The author himself answered his question in the negative. "Nothing has changed in the square – it was an elementary embezzlement of funds," he has concluded.
