Film about Beslan terror act gets award at international festival
On December 10, at the international human rights film festival "Stalker", a documentary about a tragedy in Beslan got an award in the nomination "Best Human Rights Film".
This year marks 15 years of the tragedy in Beslan. Former school hostages still need medical and social rehabilitation, but do not receive any support from the authorities.
The newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" was awarded for the documentary "School Number One" about the tragedy in Beslan.
"Many people reproach our film for hurting people ... I want our film to continue hurting everyone who watches it to secure that such a tragedy will never happen again anywhere in the world," said Olga Bobrova, the editor of the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta".
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 3, designer Artemy Lebedev said that public organizations like "Mothers of Beslan" and "Voice of Beslan" continued talking of the tragedy to get "political pies." This statement provoked indignation among YouTube users and debates about whether the state should help victims of terror acts.
