Demands of Ingush Council of Teips meet opposition of Chechen residents

The delegates of the Congress of the Ingush Council of Teips (family clans) have treated the change of the republic's borders as the greatest injustice. The Chechen residents interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" stated that the demand to cancel the border agreement is pointless and provocative.

According to Murad Daskiev, the acting Chairman of the Ingush Council of Teips, at the Congress, the Council adopted an appeal to the authorities with demands to cancel the border agreement with Chechnya and reconsider the issue of the Prigorodny District's belonging to North Ossetia.

"The issue was settled back in last December, when the Russian Constitutional Court found the border agreement legal ... The topic is completely closed," said an employee of the machinery of the head and government of Chechnya.

Shakhman, a historian from Chechnya, believes that such demands are manifestations of "populism" and "performing for the public."

Aslanbek, a resident of Chechnya, has linked the appeal of the Ingush Council of Teips with the lawsuit lodged by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) demanding to liquidate the Council.

"Those, who are currently inflating the border topic, in fact, are preparing the ground for a conflict among our descendants," said Idris, a resident of Grozny.

"Ingushetia will never agree with the decisions that had illegally torn away our territories," Magomed Bekov, a lawyer, has stated, the "Fortanga" writes.
