Two Dagestani women detained in case on 10 million roubles for IS*

Two women from Dagestan used their bank cards to transfer money for the needs of Syrian militants, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports. According to the FSB, the detainees were members of the IS* financing network.

According to investigators, in 2018, the suspects got acquainted on the Internet with an internationally wanted participant of the Syrian conflict, who fought on the side of militants since 2015. "Being adhered to radical ideas and sharing his views, the suspects agreed to help raise money for financing (the militants)," the ICRF reports on its official website today.

The suspected women from Dagestan used their bank cards to transfer 239,000 and 151,000 roubles for the needs of Syrian militants. In total, more than 10 million roubles were transferred in a similar way, notes the ICRF in its report.

The Dagestani women are detained, and the issue of their arrest will be considered in the near future, the ICRF reports.

The suspects testified about being involved in financing of members of the "Islamic State"*, the RIA "Novosti" reports today with reference to the FSB of Russia. According to the Russian FSB, the detainees were members of the unit created to finance the IS* militants.
