Dmitry Peskov evades answering questions about Ramzan Kadyrov

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the President of Russia, refused to give an assessment to the threatening statements voiced by Ramzan Kadyrov at a meeting in the Chechen government. Dmitry Peskov never comments on Ramzan Kadyrov's statements, journalists note at a briefing.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at a meeting in the Chechen government held on November 4, Ramzan Kadyrov demanded to detect authors of negative materials about the Chechen republic and social network users commenting on their posts. According to Ramzan Kadyrov, "anyone who infringes on honour and dignity will suffer the most severe punishment."

Reporters of several editions, who attended the today's briefing of Dmitry Peskov, tried to get his assessment of the statements voiced by Ramzan Kadyrov. The reporters quoted to Dmitry Peskov the call of the leader of Chechnya to punish severely for dissemination of gossip, "kill, imprison, and intimidate," as translated by the BBC Russian Service and the edition "Nastoyaschee Vremya" (Present Time).

A reporter asked Dmitry Peskov if he had read the Ramzan Kadyrov's speech in the Kremlin. "How does the Kremlin feel about the head of the Russian region calling for killings?" the "Meduza" quotes the question voiced by its correspondent.

Dmitry Peskov replied that he did not read the shorthand report of the meeting with participation of Ramzan Kadyrov and did not examine his statements in the original. The press secretary for the President of Russia refused to comment on the Ramzan Kadyrov's statement as quoted by the BBC Russian Service.

A reporter of the "Ekho Moskvy" has noted that it is not for the first time in recent weeks when Dmitry Peskov refuses to comment on questions related to Chechnya.
