Representative of Gasanguseinovs killed in Dagestan demands to punish policeman for insult

Abubakar Yangulbaev, a lawyer of the Committee against Torture (CaT), has filed a complaint to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan, demanding to punish Ibrahim Aliev, a former police chief of the Shamil District.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the parents of Gasanguseinovs shepherd-brothers, who were killed in 2016 in the Shamil District, are conducting actions demanding to punish the law enforcers guilty of the death of their children. Investigators have agreed to re-interrogate the law enforcers-figurants in the case. Ibragim Aliev, who had reported two killed militants after the death of the shepherds, will also be questioned.

According to the "Kavkaz.Realii", in his conversation with Aliev, Yangulbaev faced accusations of lies, manipulation of facts and insults.

Let us remind you that Nabi, 17, and Gasangusein, 19, Gasanguseinov were killed on August 23, 2016 during a special operation in the Shamil District. Brothers' fellow villagers stated that the Gasanguseinov brothers had nothing to do with the armed underground.

Earlier, the head of the republic, Vladimir Vasiliev, said that the Gasanguseinov brothers were killed due to a tragic mistake. His words provoked a negative reaction of social network users; and rights defenders demanded to interrogate the head of Dagestan within the murder case.
