Activists support Kurdish rally at US Embassy in Armenia

The US authorities should force Turkey to stop its military operation in Syria, declare members of the Kurdish community at a rally in Yerevan. Citizens of Armenia joined the protest action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 9, Turkey launched a military operation under the name "Source of Peace" on the border of Syria to defeat the self-defence forces of local Kurds. By October 12, 10 families of Syrian Armenians left the combat zone.

The protesters burned a photograph of Turkish leader Recep Erdogan in front of the US Embassy. According to the police, more than 150 people took part in the protest action.

Armenian MP Knyaz Khasanov, a member of the Kurdish community, condemned the US position and "the decision to leave the Kurds alone in front of the Turkish guns." "The international community has turned a blind eye to the Armenian Genocide 100 years ago, and today, the same thing is happening," the Armenian MP noted.

"The Armenian people, the Kurdish and Yazidi peoples should stick together and support each other not to let anyone break them," one of the protesters said.
